The first few weeks with a newborn are wonderful, and an absolute blur. Between broken sleep and round-the-clock feeds, cooking a proper meal is often the first thing to fall off the list. Here's how to make sure new parents still eat well, without anyone having to lift a frying pan.

Why food matters most when there's a newborn

Recovery, energy and milk supply all rely on eating well, and that's exactly when there's no time or headspace to cook. Having real, balanced meals ready to heat takes one big pressure off an already full plate.

What makes meal delivery a good fit for new parents

  • No cooking, no shopping, no cleanup, just heat and eat
  • Meals you can eat one-handed while holding a baby
  • Real, balanced food to support recovery and energy
  • A freezer full of dinners, ready whenever hunger (or the baby) strikes
  • A gift that genuinely helps, if you're supporting someone else

Thinking of a friend? A freezer of ready meals is one of the most useful gifts you can give new parents, far more practical than another bunch of flowers.

Send a care package that helps

Our care packages are made for exactly this moment, delivered with a personal message, so you can support a new family from anywhere in the country. Or new parents can simply stock the freezer ahead of baby's arrival.

Plan ahead before baby arrives

Many parents order a freezer-full in the final weeks of pregnancy, so dinner is sorted from day one. Meals keep for up to 3 months, so there's no rush to use them.

Can I send meals to someone else as a gift?

Absolutely. Our care packages can be sent with a personal message, delivered straight to the new family's door.

How long do the meals last?

Up to 3 months in the freezer, so you can stock up well ahead of time. Once defrosted, eat within 3 days.

Are the meals easy to eat one-handed?

Yes. They're ready to heat and eat, ideal for those one-handed dinners while you're holding a sleeping baby.

Do you deliver nationwide?

Yes. We deliver chilled, across New Zealand, temperature-controlled. We dispatch Monday to Thursday, never on a Friday or the day before a public holiday. Urban delivery is 1–2 business days, rural is available on request, and the cost is worked out by region and shown at checkout.

Should I order before or after the baby arrives?

Either works, but many parents stock up in the final weeks of pregnancy so dinner is sorted from day one.
