Send a gift that means something
A Family Kitchen gift is a hand-written card, a box of chocolates, and chef-made meals to spend however they like. Or send an instant digital voucher in minutes.
Choosing the right gift is hard. Gift cards can feel impersonal, flowers fade, and another candle gathers dust. A Family Kitchen gift gives something everyone genuinely needs: real, chef-made meals, delivered to their door, with a personal touch you won’t get from a plastic card. It’s a gift that says I’m thinking of you, and feeds them well too.
Two ways to give
Pick whichever suits the moment. A digital gift voucher is emailed straight to your recipient in minutes, so it works for a last-minute birthday or a gift to someone far away. A physical gift box is the personal one: we hand-write your card, tuck the voucher code inside, and post it with a box of chocolates. Both let them spend across our full range of chef-made meals and care packages.
A voucher for real, chef-made meals
Unlike a generic gift card, a Family Kitchen voucher is food they’ll actually use. Home-style meals cooked fresh in our Mount Maunganui kitchen, snap-frozen, and delivered to their door. Choose a value from $50 to $200, and they pick the meals (or a care package) that suit them.
Hand-written, posted with chocolates
The physical gift box is the touch most gift cards miss. Your message is hand-written onto a card, the voucher code tucked inside, and the whole thing posted with a box of chocolates: a Lindt Lindor slab or a box of Ferrero Rocher. A real gift in the mail, not a cold email.
A gift for every occasion
Birthdays, thank-yous, a new baby, a house-warming, sympathy, Christmas, or just because. A meal gift suits almost any moment. For times that call for extra care, take a look at our care packages, made for new parents, recovery, sympathy and celebration.
Delivered anywhere in New Zealand
Physical gift boxes are posted nationwide for a flat $7, beautifully packaged and ready to give. Digital vouchers arrive instantly by email, wherever your recipient is, with no delivery and no waiting.
Gift FAQs
How does the digital gift voucher work?
We email it to your recipient with your message. They redeem the code at checkout on any order, whether that’s meals, plans or care packages. It usually arrives within a few minutes, or on a date you choose.
What comes in the physical gift box?
A hand-written card with your message and the voucher code tucked inside, plus your chosen box of chocolates. That’s a Lindt Lindor milk slab or a box of Ferrero Rocher, posted to the recipient.
How much is delivery?
Physical gift boxes ship anywhere in New Zealand for a flat $7. Digital vouchers are free, because they’re emailed and nothing ships.
Can I choose the chocolates?
Yes. Choose a Lindt Lindor milk slab ($12.50) or a box of Ferrero Rocher ($30) in the gift builder above.
Does the gift voucher expire?
No. Family Kitchen gift vouchers don’t expire, so your recipient can use it whenever suits them.
Can it be sent straight to the recipient?
Yes. For a digital voucher we email it to their address; for a physical gift box you enter their delivery address at checkout and we post it to them.
Can I add a personal message?
Always. You write your message in the gift builder. We hand-write it onto the card for physical gifts, or include it in the email for digital vouchers.
How do the meals keep and how do I heat them?
Meals are snap-frozen straight after cooking and keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. Once defrosted in the fridge, enjoy within 3 days. Every meal is labelled with storage instructions. To heat, microwave from frozen: pierce the film and heat on high for 2.5–3 minutes, give it a stir, then rest for 1 minute. Oven from defrosted: 180°C for 15–20 minutes. Always check the food is piping hot before serving. Full instructions are on every label.
Do the meals cater for allergies?
Our menu suits a range of dietary needs, and the recipient can check allergen and ingredient details on each meal card or email shop@mealprep.nz. Please note our kitchen is not allergen-free. We also handle gluten, wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, fish and shellfish, so we can’t guarantee any meal is completely free of these or of cross-contamination.
