Shipping

The Family Kitchen delivers freshly prepared, snap-frozen meals nationwide across New Zealand. Here's everything you need to know about how and when your box arrives.

Delivery days

We deliver Monday to Friday and allow up to two days for order processing. We use overnight perishable delivery, so your box should arrive within 24 hours of being shipped. We're unable to ship on weekends or public holidays.

Delivery cost

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your delivery location. As a guide: Tauranga Local $12.00, North Island $18.00, and South Island $28.00 (overnight). The same delivery fee applies regardless of how many meals are in your order.

Rural delivery

Due to the instability of the rural delivery network we don't guarantee delivery to rural addresses, and rural orders are sent at your own risk. For a smoother experience we recommend an urban delivery address (such as your workplace) or diverting your parcel to a collection centre.

Rural shipping disclaimer. By selecting rural delivery you acknowledge that this choice is made at your own risk. When shipping to a rural address it is essential that you closely monitor your parcel. We'll send an email notification to confirm the rural delivery option, and further notifications with tracking numbers will be sent through the courier's own channels. If a parcel expires in the courier network we are unable to refund the order.

If you're not home

At checkout you can leave delivery instructions for where to place your box. Meals arrive in wool-insulated boxes with frozen gel packs, but we recommend refrigerating or freezing them as soon as possible. You'll receive text or email updates when your order is on its way and once it's been delivered.
