A well-stocked freezer is a busy family's secret weapon. Dinner is always sorted, and there's no last-minute panic. But there's a right way to do it. Here's how to stock, store and rotate frozen meals so everything stays at its best and nothing goes to waste.

How long do frozen meals really last?

Chef-made, snap-frozen meals keep for up to 3 months in the freezer without losing quality. Once defrosted, keep them in the fridge and eat within about three days.

How to stock your freezer like a pro

  • Keep a mix of family mains and kids meals on hand
  • Store meals flat and stacked to save space
  • Put newer meals at the back, older ones at the front
  • Keep a couple of “emergency” dinners for chaotic nights
  • Note what you've got so you actually use it

Tip: Rotate front-to-back like a shop does. “First in, first out” means every meal gets eaten at its best, and nothing lurks forgotten at the bottom.

Defrosting and reheating safely

Most meals heat straight from frozen. In the microwave that's 2.5–3 minutes, then stir and rest for 1 minute. In the oven it's 180°C for 15–20 minutes, until piping hot. Full instructions are on every label, so there's no guesswork.

Make it effortless

The easiest way to keep a great freezer is to start with great meals. Our chef-made range arrives snap-frozen and ready to stack, so your freezer does the work for you.
